Whether you choose to support WCC financially by making a gift online, or share your time and talent, WCC appreciates your involvement in our work to support wounded Veterans and their families. In addition to group volunteer projects, there are many individual volunteer opportunities including:
Puppy Parents: Puppy Parents raise our service dogs for two years before the dog graduates and is placed with a Veteran. Our Puppy Parents will be the first to tell you that the time, attention, and love they give to these future service dogs is incredibly rewarding and joyful. You can find more information about becoming a Puppy Parent here.
Puppy Petting: Puppy Petting helps in the critical role of socializing our puppies. Completion of Puppy Petting Orientation is required prior to signing up. Orientation sessions are held at our Boyds, MD Healing Quarters, and are approximately one hour long.
Currently, there are no puppy petting opportunities available; however, we encourage you to check this page periodically for information on future litters.
Event Support: WCC is asked to participate in hundreds of events each year. With a limited staff, we rely on a wonderful team of volunteers to help increase our presence at community events. An orientation session for our team of volunteers ensures you are well prepared and well versed to talk about the WCC mission, our organization’s history, and our impact on the Veteran community.
