Helping Dogs and People Play Through! That’s the mission behind Puppies & Golf, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting animal shelters, youth education and the training of service and therapy dogs for families and Veterans, to build lifelong bonds rooted in purpose, healing and love.

That commitment is making a meaningful difference at Warrior Canine Connection (WCC). Over the past two years, Puppies & Golf has contributed $60,000 to support the placement of WCC Military Family Support Dogs, helping expand access to specially trained assistance dogs that strengthen military and Veteran families.

Founded by CBS Sports broadcaster Amanda Balionis, Puppies & Golf grew from Amanda’s desire to make an impact despite spending much of the year traveling for work. Unable to volunteer consistently because of her demanding schedule, she began looking for other ways to support dogs, Veterans and families. The nonprofit focuses on three core pillars: military Veterans, shelters, and they recently announced a youth pillar, which helps to teach the next generation the importance of service, community and giving back through the game of golf.

“Warrior Canine Connection is exactly the kind of organization we want to champion,” said Emily Becker, executive director of Puppies & Golf. “Their innovative approach not only changes the lives of Veterans but also strengthens entire military families. Supporting Military Family Support Dogs allows us to invest in lasting relationships that bring healing, connection and hope, while advancing our mission of helping dogs and people thrive together.”

Together, the two organizations see the partnership as an opportunity to expand access to life-changing service dogs while building stronger, more connected communities.
