Organization names dog after late veterans affairs secretary

Not every hero needs a bronze statue or a painted portrait hanging in a prominent building to be remembered. Sometimes a dog will do just fine. Earlier this year, an organization called Warrior Canine Connection announced it was naming a service dog after George Owings III. Read the full story in Southern Maryland News.

Warrior Canine Connection’s pup ‘Jimmy’ pays visit to namesake Jimmy Stewart Museum

A year after being introduced to the public, ‘Jimmy’—a service dog in training—visited the Jimmy Stewart Museum days before Christmas.
