Puppies
Our puppies are born and spend the first few months of their lives at our Boyds, MD “Healing Quarters,” where they live and train in the Puppy Enrichment Center. In addition, Golden or Labrador Retriever puppies from exceptional breeders elsewhere in the United States are occasionally accepted into our program.
Beginning with the Honor Litter in 2013, WCC puppies are named for Service Members and Veterans who have made significant contributions to our nation — and in many cases, made the ultimate sacrifice.
Due to the wonderful support of our community, our name nomination form is currently on hold as we have a long wait list for both male and female names. We want to ensure we honor and celebrate each and every Veteran who is already on our list.
When puppies reach approximately 10 weeks of age, they are placed with individuals and families who care for them for the next 18 – 24 months. These “puppy parents” provide loving homes, training, and exposure to a wide variety of public settings and situations that prepare the puppy for advanced training and placement with a disabled Veteran.
Many of our puppies have their own fan pages on Facebook, where you can watch them grow and learn. You can also keep up with the latest news on upcoming litters by following Warrior Canine Connection on Facebook.
